Tennessee football has already landed one offensive lineman through the transfer portal, LSU tackle Ory Williams, but it is still on the hunt to add more talent to the trenches. A new name to appear on the Vols’ board is UL Monroe transfer Que ‘Tank’ McBroom.

McBroom is receiving attention from multiple schools across the SEC. Along with Tennessee, he’s announced offers from the likes of Mississippi State, Auburn and Ole Miss, as well as out-of-conference teams Cal and Arizona. He is also reportedly going to visit Alabama and the Rebels.

McBroom just finished his redshirt junior year and likely has one year of eligibility remaining. In 2025, he started each game at left tackle for a total of 673 snaps over 12 games. He earned a PFF grade of 55.1 on the year, though he was at a strong 69.6 in pass blocking.

In 2024, McBroom played in 11 games and made four starts. He earned a PFF grade of 51.5 on the season, but 73.0 as a pass blocker.

Prior to his two seasons at ULM, McBroom spent 2023 with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. He did not play that season and earned a redshirt. As a true freshman in 2022, he played for Coffeyville Community College and earned All-KJCCC Second Team Offense honors in just four appearances.

McBroom stands at 6-foot-5, 325 pounds. He is from St. Louis, Missouri, and played for St. Mary’s in high school.

The Vols are losing just one piece of their offensive line from last season. Left tackle Lance Heard entered the transfer portal and made his way over to Kentucky. The other starters throughout the year are all returning, though.

Tennessee will likely slide David Sanders Jr. over to left tackle and keep Sam Pendleton and Wendell Moe Jr. as starters on the interior. The question is what will happen at right tackle and the guard spot opposite of Moe. Options at guard include Jesse Perry and Sham Umarov. The tackle spot could go to Williams, the LSU transfer, or Perry.

If McBroom did pick Tennessee, he could always slide in to guard, as well. That’s been the position that UT has been tied to the most since landing Williams earlier in the portal cycle on the offensive line.
