Tennessee baseball officially began its preseason practice Monday afternoon as the Vols are just over a month away from beginning Josh Elander’s first season as head coach. The Lindsey Nelson Stadium construction zone that Tennessee has operated in for multiple years is starting to come together.
The two club levels are fully filled out, stretching from the first base line all the way to the third base line. Last season, the club levels stopped just slightly on the third base side of home plate.
Glass has been added to the box suites though much of the club and media level are still bare inside. It’s getting closer-and-closer to being completed but is not there quite yet.
Tennessee has also added concession stands and bathrooms down the left field and right field line. The concourse behind the grandstands is slightly expanded while work continues on the home plate entrance to the stadium.
Tennessee has hoped to have the vast majority of the renovations done by the start of the 2026 season. The Vols have not provided any update since the New Year on whether or not that will still be the case. Progress is being made at a strong rate but there’s still a good deal to do before the Feb. 13 season opener.
Here’s a look at how the Lindsey Nelson Stadium construction is progressing as of Monday, Jan. 12.
