Tennessee football still isn’t sure who its quarterback will be for the 2026 season. As more time passes, the more likely it’ll be a true quarterback battle involving redshirt-freshman George MacIntyre, true freshman Faizon Brandon and a potential transfer, though.

As MacIntyre and Brandon gear up for spring camp in the spotlight, MacIntyre is getting in some extra work with a group of receivers. On Wednesday, he posted a photo on his Instagram story of himself, Travis Smith Jr., Braylon Staley, Mike Matthews and Joakim Dodson in Miami. This photo is seemingly after a workout as he works to get on the same page as the receiving corps.

Notable receivers that were not in attendance include Radarious Jackson and Tristen Keys. However, there are plenty of valid reasons they may not have been able to make the trip this time.

Out of high school, MacIntyre was considered one of the top prospects in the country. He ranked as a four-star by all major recruiting services, and was considered as high as the No. 151 recruit in the class and No. 13 quarterback by 247 Composite.

MacIntyre is an in-state recruit, playing his high school ball at Brentwood Academy in the midstate.

Brandon, the other quarterback currently on the roster, is entering his true freshman season. He was considered a five-star prospect by 247, holding the No. 1 ranking of any player regardless of position for a portion of the cycle. He ended as the No. 2 recruit and quarterback before signing with the Vols.

Brandon is an early enrollee and will be on campus for spring practice this year. He is from Greensboro, North Carolina, out of Grimsley.
