Tennessee Football Edge Rusher Transfer Reportedly Committed to New School

After entering the transfer portal out of Tennessee football, former Vols edge rusher Kellen Lindstrom has seemingly found his next school. According to 247, Lindstrom committed to Missouri State on Jan. 15.

This is a return home of sorts for Lindstrom. He is from Springfield, Missouri, where he played for Glendale High School. He was considered a four-star recruit out of high school via 247 Composite. The site ranked him as the No. 336 player in the 2024 class, No. 43 defensive lineman and No. 8 player from the state.

Lindstrom stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 240 pounds. He was named to the 2024 Fall Academic Honor Roll. A Missouri native, his father, Greg, and grandfather played baseball at Missouri. His uncle was a football player for the Tigers, as well.

Lindstrom appeared in three games this season for Tennessee. He recorded two tackles during this time. He was behind a strong trio at the position of Joshua Josephs, Caleb Herring and Jordan Ross. However, even without Ross for the season finale, Lindstrom did not see the field.

As a true freshman in 2024, Lindstrom also played in three games. That year, he managed four tackles.

Tennessee lost 28 players to the transfer portal this cycle, but as of the morning of Jan. 26, has landed 21 itself. All but just two have committed to their new programs. The only transfers out of UT still on the board are wide receiver Amari Jefferson and offensive lineman Trevor Duncan.

Notable names to depart from Tennessee this cycle include defensive back Boo Carter to Colorado, quarterback Jake Merklinger to UConn, running back Peyton Lewis to Virginia, offensive tackle Lance Heard to Kentucky, cornerback Rickey Gibson III to Texas A&M, edge rusher Caleb Herring to South Carolina, edge rusher Jordan Ross to LSU, kicker Max Gilbert to Arkansas and tight end Jack Van Dorselaer to Oklahoma.
