Tennessee Basketball head coach Rick Barnes and freshman guard Amari Evans met with the media in an interview setting on Friday morning in Knoxville. The 25th-ranked Volunteers will travel to Lexington, KY, this weekend for a primetime rematch with Kentucky at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night in Rupp Arena.
Tennessee and Kentucky have already squared off once this season in Knoxville. The Vols held a 16-point advantage at one point in the first half, but the Wildcats kept chipping away to eventually take the lead and the game in the final minute of the contest. Tennessee knows it’ll need a full showing on Saturday night to even the series.
“We need to play a full 40 minutes,” Evans said on Friday. “I feel like we probably played 27, 28 minutes last game, and (Kentucky) took over at the end of the game. We can’t have that. We’ve just got to play hard for the full 40 and hopefully we come out on top of that.”
