On Wednesday morning, Tennessee football added a fifth piece to its 2027 recruiting class. Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker out of Milton High School in Georgia picked the Vols over a number of SEC offers.
Baker is considered the No. 539 recruit in the country on 247 Composite. This slots him as the No. 37 quarterback and No. 62 player from Georgia in the cycle. Along with UT, he held offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Ole Miss and plenty more.
This commitment has pushed Tennessee back up the recruiting rankings on 247 and Rivals. Coming off a 2026 class that ranked as high as No. 4 in the country on 247 and signed over 30 players, this has been a strong start for Josh Heupel and UT, though there is much more work to be done over the next year.
Here’s a look at where the class and individual commits are ranked on 247 and Rivals at this point.
