Tennessee baseball head coach Josh Elander met with the media following the Vols’ 6-0 game three loss to Wright State Sunday in Knoxville.

Elander shared his thoughts on the poor offensive performance, deeming it ‘unacceptable’ and offering ways he plans the unit can improve moving forward.

Additionally, the Vols’ skipper talked Evan Blanco’s start on the mound, Manny Marin’s big day at the plate and more.

“We need to make some adjustments— the coaching staff too, because again, today is unacceptable, right? I mean, to get shut out on our home field,” Elander said angrily about the Sunday loss. “There’s only so many times I’ve worn this uniform that we’ve been shut out over the time.

“The guys need to take it personally. It needs to burn a little bit, and they need to remember it when we go to work tomorrow. Because, again, we got another week on deck. Hit the reset button tomorrow and keep the big picture in mind, but this needs to be some sort of change in behavior moving up here.”
