Where Tennessee Baseball Lands In Rankings Entering SEC Play

Tennessee baseball returned home for five games last week, posting a 4-1 record with a pair of midweek victories before taking two out of three games in a weekend series against Wright State.

The Vols’ offense continued to struggle despite the winning week. Tennessee combined to score 18 runs in its two midweek victories but only scored nine runs in the weekend series against the Raiders. Wright State shut out Tennessee on Sunday marking the Vols’ first regular-season non conference shutout loss since 2021

At the plate, Manny Marin, Henry Ford, Reese Chapman and Garrett Wright carried Tennessee’s offense over the weekend series. But the Vols did not get enough contributions from the back half of their lineup as Levi Clark, Chris Newstrom and Stone Lawless all failed to record hits.

Tennessee’s pitching staff had a solid weekend with bullpen arms Brandon Arvidson, Brayden Krenzel and Cameron Appenzeller all turning in strong outings.

Despite a solid week overall, Tennessee mostly dropped in the various rankings last week. Here’s where the Vols stand entering SEC play.
