Tennessee football is one of a number of schools in line to host one of the top-ranked defensive line recruits in the country this spring. Four-star Marvin Nguetsop announced he will be in Knoxville on March 21 with spring practice underway.
Prior to his trip to see the Vols, Nguetsop will see Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, South Carolina, Georgia and Ole Miss. He’ll head to see UCLA a few weeks after his visit to UT to conclude the stretch.
Nguetsop is ranked as the No. 221 recruit in the country via 247. He is the No. 25 defensive lineman and No. 2 player out of Connecticut. He plays for St. Thomas More out of Oakdale, Connecticut.
Initially, Nguetsop was born in Germany, though. His family is from Cameroon. According to 247, he grew up playing basketball and handball before switching to football.

While he prepares for his senior season, Nguetsop has already turned heads on the recruiting circuit. He was named a Navy All-American Bowl roster.
It doesn’t take long watching Nguetsop to see why he’s garnering so much attention. 247 lists him at a staggering 6-foot-7.5 and 268 pounds.
Tennessee is off to a strong start in the 2027 cycle. So far, UT has landed four commitments in the class. The Vols boast four-star offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo as the headliner, with four-star Kadin Fife also in the boat. However, Fife is apparently back in the evaluation process after defensive staff changes.
Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker and legacy linebacker JP Peace are also committed. More commitments are expected to roll in throughout the offseason as the class heats up, though.
