Tennessee football is a third of the way through its spring practice, with its eyes narrowing in on the annual Orange & White Spring Game. On Monday, UT announced that the game that will be held on April 11, 2026, will begin at 2 p.m. ET inside historic Neyland Stadium. Gates will open at 1 p.m. ET.

Entrance for fans is free, but part of the stadium will be off limits due to ongoing construction. Seating will be unavailable in sections G through Q and GG through QQ.

Tennessee’s spring games have seen various formats under Josh Heupel. While this one is unclear, if it follows recent trends, it will be more of an exhibition than a scrimmage, with the offense wearing one color and the defense another. Likely, the score will be kept, but it won’t be a true split of teams.

Tennessee is embarking on its sixth season under the direction of Heupel. He is coming off an 8-5 (4-4 SEC) season that concluded with a narrow loss to Illinois in the Music City Bowl. Now, pressure is on to win, but with a first-year starting quarterback.

The job is between George MacIntyre, Faizon Brandon and Ryan Staub, all of whom are battling over the course of the spring, with the competition expected to continue into fall camp.

“They’ve had a good winter with the introduction of some of the things that we’re doing offensively,” Heupel said to begin spring camp. “George obviously has more time on task with the general basis of what we’re doing. But as those guys have come into the program, gaining an understanding of what we’re doing, the communication, how they’re calling protections, adjusting protections, our run-game rules, being able to control everything that we’re doing.

“And then starting to master what’s going on on the back end, from the defensive structures as well. And ultimately become a guy that is playing extremely efficiently. Starts with their eyes, being able to see things, work through the progression, then the fundamentals and the technique to deliver the ball consistently and accurately. That guy has got to play on edge. He’s got to go make plays, um, but he’s also got to take care of the football.”

Spring practice will pick back up on Wednesday after an off day on Tuesday.
