Tennessee football got great news on the recruiting trail on Saturday, landing talented in-state prospect Kesean Bowman. The wide receiver is a four-star recruit and a top-50 prospect in the nation. Now, UT is looking to keep up the momentum.

A few days before Bowman committed, Tennessee got some additional good news. Elite edge rusher Marvin Nguetsop named the Vols inside of his top five schools on March 25. He named UT alongside Ohio State, Kentucky, Michigan and Ole Miss, according to Rivals.

Nguetsop is ranked as the No. 221 recruit in the country via 247. He is the No. 25 defensive lineman and No. 2 player out of Connecticut. He plays for St. Thomas More out of Oakdale, Connecticut.

Initially, Nguetsop was born in Germany, though. His family is from Cameroon. According to 247, he grew up playing basketball and handball before switching to football.

Tennessee is off to an extremely strong start in the 2027 cycle. So far, UT has landed six commitments in the class, including three four-stars. Bowman leads the way as a top-50 prospect, with offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo just outside the top-100 on 247. Defensive lineman Kadin Fife is also in the boat, but committed to the previous defensive staff.

Three-stars quarterback Derrick Baker, legacy linebacker JP Peace and in-state athlete Jaden Butler are also committed. More commitments are expected to roll in throughout the offseason as the class heats up, as well.
