Lady Vols basketball has landed its first commitment of the transfer portal cycle. Following a visit, Liberty guard Avery Mills announced she’ll be headed to Knoxville to join Kim Caldwell’s third Tennessee team.

Mills just concluded her sophomore season, leaving her with two years of eligibility remaining. She has played both of her seasons at Liberty so far at the college level.

Mills was a First-Team All-CUSA member this past season. In 26 games and 25 starts, she averaged 15.3 points per game on 42.9% shooting from the field and 42.7% on threes. She also contributed 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game on the season.

As a freshman, Mills played in 33 games with no starts. She averaged 6.8 points on 51.9% shooting from the field, 46.2% on threes and 91.3% from the free throw line. This 50/40/90 line helped her earn a spot on the CUSA All-Freshman Team.
