With the season officially over, the college basketball transfer portal is in full swing. According to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, more than 1,000 DI players entered the portal in the first 10 hours that it was open on Tuesday. Teams all over the country are looking to rebuild and bolster their roster, whether that be through adding or retaining players.
As of Thursday morning, Tennessee Basketball has six players in the portal: guard Bishop Boswell, guard Clarence Massamba, guard Amari Evans, forward Cade Phillips, forward Jaylen Carey, and forward J.P. Estrella. It originally looked like Tennessee freshman guard Troy Henderson was headed to the portal, but he rescinded his intention on Wednesday.
There has been some incoming player news, though. Tennessee Basketball announced the signing of sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade last week, who is a sharpshooting graduate transfer from Belmont. He officially became Tennessee’s first addition through the portal before it even opened.
Borzello ranked the Top 40 players in the transfer portal on Wednesday, with both Estrella and Lundblade making the tail end of the list.
Estrella is the higher-ranked of the two players, coming in at No. 36 in the rankings.
“Estrella was one of the most efficient post players in the SEC this past season, averaging 10.0 points and 5.4 rebounds despite starting just 13 games and playing a little more than 18 minutes per game,” Borzello writes. “He shot nearly 60% from the field and was one of the elite offensive rebounders in the country. He should still have two years of eligibility after missing nearly all of the 2024-25 season with a foot injury.”
Lundblade, meanwhile, lands at No. 39 in the rankings.
“The Missouri Valley Player of the Year, Lundblade emerged as an elite 3-point shooter at the mid-major level over the past two seasons, hitting nearly 44% of his shots from beyond the arc on nearly eight attempts per game,” Borzello writes. “He scored at least 20 points six times in MVC play, including a 31-point effort against Northern Iowa in February.”
For Tennessee fans who grew frustrated with the Vols’ free-throw shooting issues at times last season, Lundblade should be a welcome sight. He is a career 93.3% free-throw shooter and went 93.4% and 94.4% from the line over his last two seasons, which were based on 145 total attempts.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights that Lundblade brings to the table for the Vols:

More From RTI: Loyola Chicago Center Visiting Tennessee Basketball This Weekend
None of Tennessee’s outgoing transfers has reached an agreement with another program yet. The Volunteers, meanwhile, are working to rebuild the roster. Tennessee is hosting both Loyola (Chicago) transfer center Miles Rubin and Cal transfer guard Dai Dai Ames this weekend.
