Kentucky Basketball’s third-leading scorer and best three-point shooter, Collin Chandler, is heading to the transfer portal, according to a report from Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports on Wednesday.
Chandler has played in 66 total games with the Wildcats over the last two seasons, with 31 starts for Mark Pope’s squad this last year. During the 2025-2026 season, Chandler averaged 9.7 PPG while shooting 43.5% from the field and 41.0% from three-point range. He also averaged 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Wildcats last year.
During Kentucky’s first matchup with Tennessee last season, he tallied 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Chandler also recorded three steals in the game, one of which was to set up Kentucky’s go-ahead basket with just 34 seconds left on the clock. He then scored nine points in the Wildcats’ win over Tennessee just a few weeks later in Lexington, with all three makes coming from three-point range.

Chandler, a native of Farmington, UT, was originally committed to Pope’s BYU program, but switched over to Kentucky with the coaching change. It looks like he could be heading back to his home state. The four-star transfer prospect received a prediction from 247Sports’ Travis Branham on Wednesday to land at BYU.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Chandler entered the portal with a ‘Do Not Contact’ tag.
As of Thursday morning, Tennessee Basketball has six players in the portal: guard Bishop Boswell, guard Clarence Massamba, guard Amari Evans, forward Cade Phillips, forward Jaylen Carey, and forward J.P. Estrella. It originally looked like Tennessee freshman guard Troy Henderson was headed to the portal, but he rescinded his intention on Wednesday.
None of Tennessee’s outgoing transfers has reached an agreement with another program yet. The Volunteers, meanwhile, are working to rebuild the roster. Tennessee is hosting both Loyola (Chicago) transfer center Miles Rubin and Cal transfer guard Dai Dai Ames this weekend.
