Tennessee basketball and Rick Barnes are going through a total retooling of the roster. After a third-straight Elite Eight run for the Vols, UT has seen a lot of outgoing movement to the portal. In response, Barnes and company have landed three key pieces as they look to break through to the Final Four.
“We’ve seen enough in this game. There’s a lot of different ways to get there,” Barnes said about trying to get to the Final Four. “But if you want to break through, you’ve got to get here first. You’ve got to put yourself in position to do that.
“We’ve been able to get here three years in a row, and it’ll be hard to get back to winning games just in the tournament. That first game of the tournament in the hardest one. But our goal would be to keep getting back and kicking and hopefully we can knock the door down.”
Along with the three additions through the portal, Tennessee has three incoming freshmen, as well. Freshmen Troy Henderson and Dewayne Brown II have also officiall announced they’re returning for their sophomore seasons.
