It was a successful weekend for Tennessee basketball as the Vols hosted and landed a pair of commitments in the transfer portal from Cal combo guard Dai Dai Ames and Loyola (Chicago) center Miles Rubin.

The duo joins Belmont sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade as the first three commitments in Tennessee’s 2026 transfer class. Where does that class rank after one week of the portal being open?

247sports ranks Tennessee as the No. 3 portal class in the country to date. The Vols are second in the SEC as they come in behind Louisville and Texas.

Tennessee has the fourth ranked class by average player rating including teams that have landed multiple players in the portal.

Lundblade is coming off a standout season at Belmont, averaging 15.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game on his way to earning MVC Player of the Year honors. One of the top shooters in the country, Lundblade made 112 three-pointers at a 40.9% clip last season. He made the seventh most triples nationally last season.

Rubin is coming off a junior season where he averaged 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 2.3 assists per game. The 6-foot-10 center is a high-level rim protector, ranking 12th nationally last season by blocking 76 shots. Rubin blocked 85 shots as a sophomore and, again, 76 shots as a true freshman.

After a successful weekend, Tennessee now turns its attention to VCU guard Terrence Hill Jr. who is slated to visit on Wednesday. The Vols are hotly pursuing Wake Forest guard Juke Harris and are looking to line up a visit with Troy power forward Thomas Dow and Cal wing Jalen Haralson.
