Tennessee football will be getting news on its 2027 recruiting board on Tuesday, but whether it’s positive or negative is yet to be seen. On Tuesday, four-star tight end target Gratn Haviland will announce his commitment.
According to Rivals, Haviland will be deciding between the Vols, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State and Vanderbilt. He will announce at 3:45 p.m. ET at Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Haviland is ranked as the No. 13 tight end in the 2027 class, according to 247 Composite. He is the No. 275 recruit in the country and No. 30 prospect out of Georgia, as well. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds.

“Flex tight end prospect with extensive snaps at receiver and H,” 247 scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote. “Lacks frame length but manages to make fair share of contested catches. Tracks it well downfield and maximizes the catch window as much as possible. Shows blocking conviction and maintains engagement. Will need more mass/strength to continue the latter vs. FBS competition.”
This past cycle, UT landed three-star international prospect Luca Wolf at tight end. The year before, Tennessee brought in four-stars Jack Van Dorselaer and Dasaahn Brame, but Van Dorselaer has since transferred to Oklahoma.
Currently, Tennessee holds six commitments in the 2027 class. This features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.
