Lady Vols basketball is in the midst of a total roster rebuild. Every member of its 2025-26 team is moving on either due to eligibility or entering the transfer portal. While the primary focus is on building a roster for the 2026-27 season, there’s still attention on the future.

In that effort, Kim Caldwell and her Tennessee staff have extended an offer to one of the top recruits in the 2027 cycle. Five-star point guard Taylor Brown announced the offer on Monday, coming from Caldwell and new assistant coach Bill Ferrara.

Brown, standing at 5-foot-7, is from Glen Head, New York, and plays for Long Island Lutheran. According to 247 Composite, she is the No. 24 player in the class, No. 3 point guard and top recruit from New York.

Other notable offers on the table from Brown include Michigan, Florida, Maryland, Florida State, Michigan State, Alabama, SMU, Louisville, Miami, Syracuse, Arizona, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Indiana, Baylor, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Arizona State and Auburn, among others.

Tennessee has recruited high school talent extremely well under Caldwell, but it hasn’t paid off. The Lady Vols lost all five members of its No. 2-ranked class a year ago to the transfer portal. Each has committed to their new school, and all are staying at the Power Four level. UT also signed five-star Oliviyah Edwards, but she requested a release from her signing after the finish of last season.

The lone high school commit standing for Caldwell is incoming four-star Gabby Minus. The top-50 recruit will join a team of transfers next season on Rocky Top.
