Former Lady Vols basketball guard Kaniya Boyd has found her new home through the transfer portal. On Wednesday, Boyd announced she has committed to Texas A&M through the portal on her Instagram.
This now marks all eight outgoing Tennessee transfers finding their new home. Each is staying at the Power Four level with three, including Boyd, staying in the SEC. Talaysia Cooper and Jaida Civil are both headed to Ole Miss.
Boyd just concluded her redshirt-sophomore season, with each of her collegiate seasons spent at Tennessee. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Boyd committed to Kellie Harper, but stuck through the coaching change. She arrived on campus under Harper on Jan. 8, 2024, as an early enrollee. She spent the year rehabbing a knee injury from high school and did not appear in any games.
Her commitment to Harper and retention on the roster from Kim Caldwell was huge given her recruiting status. ESPNW ranked her as a four-star prospect out of Las Vegas. She was the No. 35 player in the class on the site, as well.
This past season, Boyd played in 26 games and started in four. In this span, she averaged 1.6 points per game on 34.1% shooting from the field and 25% on threes. She also added 1.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
This season, Tennessee finished 16-14 (8-8 SEC). The Lady Vols were the 6-seed in the SEC Tournament, but lost to Alabama in the second round. They earned a 10-seed in the NCAA Tournament, but lost to NC State in the Round of 64 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
In response to losing eight players to the portal and the signing of five-star Oliviyah Edwards, Caldwell has held onto the signing of four-star Gabby Minus and added five players through the portal so far.
