Tennessee football got some bad news on Tuesday. The Vols missed out on the commitment of four-star, in-state cornerback recruit Miles Brown as he heads to SEC foe Kentucky.
To make matters even worse, Brown spurned UT during his announcement. He initially picked up a Tennessee hat, looked at it, then put it back on the table before putting on the UK hat.
Ranked as a four-star on 247 Composite, Brown is considered the No. 430 player in the 2027 class. He is the No. 42 cornerback and No. 17 player in the state of Tennessee. The 5-foot-11 corner plays for Westview in Martin, Tennessee.
Love the fake out with the Tennessee hat. He’s a Cat for sure. https://t.co/TmB5nHOURB pic.twitter.com/lHGuHEbMsF

More From RTI: Where Tennessee Football’s 2027 Recruiting Class Ranks Eight Commitments In
247 lists a quartet of official visits for Brown to each of his finalists. However, it’s currently unclear if he still plans to make all four visits after his commitment. If he does, he’ll be at Ole Miss on May 29, Tennessee on June 5, Louisville on June 12 and Kentucky on June 19.
Brown’s primary recruiter at Tennessee is Derek Jones. He joined the Vols’ staff this past winter to help Jim Knowles in his first year as UT’s defensive coordinator.
Currently, Tennessee holds eight commitments in the 2027 class. This features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.
Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Brandon Leavell. The group currently ranks inside the top 25 on both 247 and Rivals.
