Tennessee football will get some clarity on its 2027 recruiting board on Monday. According to a report from Chad Simmons, four-star offensive lineman Carter Jones will announce his commitment decision.

Jones is picking between the Vols, Clemson, Georgia and Penn State. However, 247 has seen six predictions come in in favor of the Tigers and Dabo Swinney landing the commitment.

Jones is ranked as a four-star and the No. 16 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class, via 247. He is the No. 5 player out of the state of Virginia, playing for Poquoson High School in Poquoson, Virginia.

However, Jones is making this announcement coming off an official visit to UT. He was in Knoxville on May 21, following his officials to Penn State and Georgia. He has an official visit scheduled to see Clemson on May 29, as well.

Currently, Tennessee’s class of 2027 commitment list ranks just outside the top-30 on both 247 and Rivals. However, the Vols have laid a strong foundation to build on and are in good standing with a number of highly-rated recruits.

The group of nine commits features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.

Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Slim Leavell. UT also added the No. 2-ranked long snapper in the cycle, Sam McKeown, on Friday.
