Tennessee Baseball will be the 2-seed in the Chapel Hill Regional this weekend in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Vols head to Chapel Hill, NC, to take part in a four-team group that includes 1-seed North Carolina, 3-seed East Carolina, and 4-seed VCU.
With Tennessee slated to take on ECU in the opening game on Friday afternoon, the first immediate question that comes to mind revolves around the Vols’ starting pitching plan. Does Josh Elander start UT’s ace, Tegan Kuhns, on Friday for the best chance to win the opening game? Or does Elander save Kuhns for a potential matchup against North Carolina on Saturday, thus giving the ball to Evan Blanco on Friday instead?
Rocky Top Insider’s Jack Foster and Ryan Schumpert discussed this idea during Monday’s episode of RTI: Diamond Pass. Check it out below:
Should Tennessee start Tegan Kuhns Game 1 of the Chapel Hill Regional… or save him for a potential North Carolina matchup in Game 2?
