Tennessee football in-state recruiting target Omarii Sanders has officially shut down his recruitment. After committing to Vanderbilt on Nov. 29, 2025, Sanders still heard plenty from other schools that were pushing for the blue-chip linebacker.
Now, Sanders has made the announcement that his decision is final. He’s fully committed to the Commodores.
Sanders ranks as the No. 42 recruit in the entire 2027 class on 247. He ranks as the No. 1 linebacker in the cycle and the No. 2 player out of the state of Tennessee. He is from Nashville, where he plays for Franklin Road Academy.
I sincerely thank all the coaches and programs who took the time to recruit me and believing in my journey. I’m shutting down my recruitment and am fully committed to @VandyFootball @Coach_Lea @coachMRiceVU @Coach_Shinaver @Steveygregs @bartonsimmons @EarlBBennett #OneofOne pic.twitter.com/KGJbd5tBwK

More From RTI: Elite Tennessee Running Back Target Lands Second Prediction For Ohio State
Currently, Tennessee’s class of 2027 commitment list ranks just outside the top-30 on both 247 and Rivals. However, the Vols have laid a strong foundation to build on and are in good standing with a number of highly-rated recruits.
The group of nine commits features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.
Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Slim Leavell. UT also added the No. 2-ranked long snapper in the cycle, Sam McKeown.
