Tennessee is 1-2 in the ACC-SEC Challenge, with a loss at North Carolina in 2023, a win at home against Syracuse in 2024, and a loss at Syracuse in 2025.

Rick Barnes assembled a new-look roster during the offseason, with eight additions from the transfer portal and four additions from the high school recruiting circuit. The Vols are hoping that their 3rd-ranked transfer portal class has enough firepower to break through to the Final Four after three straight empty trips to the Elite Eight.
