Outfielder Blaine Brown is returning to Tennessee baseball for his junior season, Volquest’s Eric Cain first reported Friday and a source confirmed to RTI.
Brown started in left field for Tennessee the majority of the 2026 season, slashing .240/.308/.467 with 13 home runs, 12 doubles and 42 RBIs. It was an underwhelming season for Brown with the Rice transfer struggling for much of SEC play.
The left-handed hitter hit .233 with seven home runs, four doubles and 18 RBIs in conference play. His best weekend of the season came when he totaled six hits in three games against Texas.
Brown is the likely lone returning starter in Tennessee’s outfield from this past season. Reese Chapman is out of eligibility while Garrett Wright likely will head to professional baseball. Both Jay Abernathy and Nate Eisfelder entered the transfer portal following the season.
