Tennessee baseball will seemingly meet up with one of its outgoing transfers in the future. After entering the transfer portal following his sophomore season, right-handed pitcher Brayden Krenzel has decided to stay in the SEC and is committed to Arkansas.

Krenzel, a 6-foot-3 and 226-pound pitcher out of Dublin, Ohio, will have two more years of eligibility to use with the Razorbacks. He was a piece of the Vols’ bullpen in both of his first two collegiate seasons.

This past year, Krenzel appeared in 20 games for a total of 17.1 innings. All out of the bullpen, he struggled, posting a 9.35 ERA, 2-3 record and two saves.

This came after an offseason of high expectations for Krenzel. As a freshman, he put together a strong campaign, leading to thoughts that he would be a key piece in relief in the 2026 season. During that 2024 year, Krenzel appeared in 21 games and pitched 32.2 innings. He produced a 4.68 ERA, 3-0 record and got the chance to start two games during the course of the season.

Krenzel is the son of a former Ohio State quarterback, Craig Krenzel. He played for the Buckeyes from 1999-2003, winning a BCS national championship in 2002, the Draddy Trophy in 2003 and was named a second-team All-Big 10 member in 2002. Brayden Krenzel considered following in his father’s footsteps and committing to Ohio State out of high school, but picked the Vols over the Buckeyes and Kentucky, instead.

Now, he joins an Arkansas team that is still on the hunt for its first national title. The Razorbacks have been to two national title series, including as recently as 2018, but haven’t gotten over the hump yet.
