As Tennessee football looks to fill out its 2027 recruiting class, it means hosting prospects on official visits in an attempt to seal the deal. That also includes hosting its commits who are already on board.

This past weekend, one of the commits who was in town was three-star defensive back Carter Jamison. This was one of two official visits that he took this summer, with the other being a trip to see USF at the beginning of June.

Jamison is a safety and ranked as a three-star recruit by 247 Composite. He is the No. 1,068 player in the class, No. 108 safety and No. 126 player from Georgia. He is from Fairburn, Georgia, where he plays for Creekside High School.

More From RTI: Tennessee Football Recruiting Target Sets Imminent Following Official Visits

Jamison has been committed to Tennessee since May 2, 2026. While he is listed as a safety, his primary recruiter at Tennessee has been Derek Jones, the cornerbacks coach. He also has the ability to play nickel, which could allow him to be versatile once arriving on campus next year.

Other teams that had offered Jamison ahead of his commitment included Wake Forest, USF, East Carolina, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Tulsa, UAB, UNLV, Western Kentucky, Western Michigan, Eastern Kentucky and Samford.

Jamison is one of 16 players committed to Tennessee in the 2027 class. This features three other defensive backs, as well. Three-stars Jaden Butler, Brandon ‘Slim’ Leavell and Dylan Haley are also committed.

The class ranks as the No. 36 group in the country on 247. However, with official visits still in the works and top targets recently on campus, the expectation is more commitments could role in and shoot UT up the rankings.
