Tennessee softball has suffered three losses to the transfer portal, and two of them are staying in the SEC. After freshman pitcher Kailey Plumlee committed to Alabama, outfielder Saviya Morgan announced her pledge to South Carolina on Thursday morning.
Morgan played two years with the Lady Vols and will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Gamecocks. This past season as a sophomore, Morgan appeared in 36 games and started in 10. She produced a .293 batting average with 10 runs, five RBI, two doubles and no home runs.
As a freshman, she was a consistent piece of the batting order. In 62 games and 59 starts, she hit at a .340 clip with 48 runs, 14 RBI, four doubles, two triples and no homers.
Morgan is a Tennessee native, hailing from Columbia and playing for Columbia Central. She hits and throws from the left side and stands at 5-foot-4.

Along with Morgan and Plumlee, both reserve pieces in 2026, Tennessee is also losing a starter to the portal. Infielder Ella Dodge announced she’d be departing from the program after her redshirt-sophomore year. She finished the year as the team’s starting third baseman while hitting toward the top of the lineup. She hasn’t announced her next stop yet.
Tennessee has landed a transfer itself, as well. Out of South Carolina, infielder Karley Shelton announced her pledge to the Lady Vols. Shelton is entering her senior season and will have one year of eligibility remaining. She brings a proven bat to Tennessee, as well, after having a strong junior year in 2026. In 60 appearances and starts, she hit at a .345 average with seven home runs. She also contributed 40 RBI, 33 runs, 16 doubles and a triple.
Shelton has been a contributor for all three of her years at South Carolina. As a sophomore, she started in all 61 of her appearances while hitting at a .343 clip with four home runs. As a freshman, she played in 50 games and made 34 starts. She hit .200 that year with one homer.
