Tennessee transfer outfielder Nate Eisfelder committed to Indiana baseball out of the transfer portal on Thursday afternoon, he announced on his Instagram.

Eisfelder hit .192 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 26 at-bats during his freshman season. Most of Eisfelder’s opportunities came in non conference play but he did start two games in the SEC Tournament, hitting 2-for-8 in games against South Carolina and Arkansas. He went 0-for-2 after subbing in against East Carolina in the NCAA Tournament.

The best moment of Eisfelder’s freshman season came against Mississippi State when he drove in a run with a single up the middle in a pinch hit at-bat.

A Johnson City native, Eisfelder joins an Indiana program that has routinely been one of the Big 10’s best. The Hoosiers failed to make the NCAA Tournament after posting a disappointing 23-31 (9-21 Big 10) record last season but has made the NCAA Tournament five times in the last 10 seasons.
