Former Tennessee Baseball stars Blake Burke and Andrew Fischer are back on Rocky Top as their Biloxi Shuckers take on the Knoxville Smokies in a six-game series this week.
Ahead of the first game on Tuesday, the two VFLs caught up with the local media to talk about their return to Knoxville, their thoughts on the Tennessee program and memories they still hold, minor league baseball, their current seasons, and more.

The series began on Tuesday night and will run through Sunday.
Burke is in the midst of a strong second professional season. After spending part of the 2025 season in High-A Wisconsin and Double-A Biloxi, Burke has spent the entirety of this season with the Shuckers.
The first baseman has been stellar this year, slashing .269/.345/.560 with 19 home runs, 17 doubles, two triples and 61 RBIs in 69 games played. While Burke’s on-base percentage is slightly down compared to lat season, it’s still a solid mark while he continues to slug at a high level with both home runs and doubles.
The Milwaukee Brewers selected Burke with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft shortly after he helped lead Tennessee to the 2024 national championship.
Fischer, meanwhile, has been on a heater as of late.
Fischer began the year in High-A Wisconsin but the Milwaukee Brewers recently promoted him to Double-A Biloxi. The step up in competition has done little to slow down Fischer. In fact, the third baseman has been at his best over his last seven games.
Fischer is hitting 8-for-24 (.333) with five home runs and 10 RBIs. Add on six walks over that stretch and Fischer has posted an incredible .467 on-base percentage.
