Tennessee men’s basketball had a drama free uniform reveal this week, releasing its base home and away uniforms that are just minimally different compared to what they previously were.
The Vols will still have “Tennessee” above the number and “Volunteers” below the number on the front of the jersey with a thick white stripe down the side of the orange uniforms and a thick orange stripe down the side of the white uniforms.
There are a few small changes. The adidas logo is centered on the chest instead of offset on the right side. There’s just one thin stripe around the collar opposed to two. The player names are also lower and curved on the back instead of straight across. But the new uniforms look a lot like they previously did under Nike as Tennessee appropriately did little to mess with an already good thing.
While Tennessee revealed just two basketball uniforms this week, they will not go into the 2026-27 season with just two uniforms. They said as much on social media Wednesday afternoon:

The Vols have had two alternate uniforms over the last two seasons and that will remain the same moving forward.

As hinted on social media Thursday, Tennessee will again have a “dark mode” uniform under adidas. Tennessee is also expected to have uniforms similar to the cream uniforms that they have had in recent years. The Vols have worn the off-white uniforms with a cursive orange “Vols” script in home and postseason games in recent seasons.
Tennessee first wore its traditional home uniforms as alternate uniforms during the 2018-19 season. They turned into the permanent home uniforms before Tennessee complimented them with an orange, away set during the 2020-21 season.
The Vols first debut their cream uniforms during the 2022-23 season and their dark mode uniforms during the 2024-25 season.
Tennessee men’s basketball has been as consistent as any program on campus over the last five years, making three straight trips to the Elite Eight following a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2023. The Vols have won a SEC Regular-Season and Tournament championship in that same stretch.
Expectations are again high for Tennessee this season as Rick Barnes and his staff rebuilt the Vols’ roster with one of the nation’s best transfer portal hauls including standout VCU guard Terrence Hill Jr. and Wake Forest guard Juke Harris.
