Sunday’s slate of NBA Summer League games featured a matchup between multiple former Vols, a huge showing for Chaz Lanier, and the second game for second-round pick Felix Okpara.
The main event for the night was Nate Ament’s Bucks against the Spurs. San Antonio has a trio of Vols on their roster, including Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Igor Milicic Jr., and Zakai Zeigler. Gillespie has been in the starting five for each of the Spurs’ three games so far, and Milicic joined him for the first time on Sunday night.
Chaz Lanier went off for 25 points against the Cavs. The former UT sharpshooter had 17 points with four minutes to go in the first quarter after knocking down five of his first six attempts from three-point range. It was by far his best showing of the SL slate so far.
