More From RTI: Game Date Announced for Lady Vols Basketball’s Road Game at Belmont

The Lady Vols are a completely retooled team this upcoming season, featuring 13 transfers and a pair of incoming freshmen. However, a good bit of the group is recovering from injuries, and Liberty guard transfer Avery Mills recently suffered a serious knee injury.

Tennessee also adds two new assistant coaches in Isoken Uzamere from Georgia and Bill Ferrara from Florida State.

“Man, it’s crazy,” Uzamere said. “So I’ve been looking at halftime speeches from like Coach Summitt and all of that. And she said a phrase and it was offense sells tickets, defense wins games, and then rebounding wins championships. And I think we have a little bit of all of that, a little bit of offense, a little bit of defense, a little bit of rebounding. So I’m excited for the 15, and they’re hungry, chip on their shoulder, feisty. So I’m excited about that.”

Tennessee is beginning to roll out its out-of-conference slate, as well. The Lady Vols have confirmed game dates of Nov. 4 at Coppin State, Nov. 17 at Belmont, Dec. 3 at Virginia Tech and Dec. 18 vs. Baylor (Nashville). Non-conference games without dates announced are at UConn, vs. UCLA and vs. MTSU.
