
Tennessee football made a major splash on the recruiting trail Wednesday night, landing five-star running back David Gabriel Georges over Ohio State and Ole Miss.
Gabriel Georges ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 10 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. A standout at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Gabriel Georges is the top player in the Volunteer Sate and the No. 2 running back in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
The Vols have long pursued the blue-chip running back and football fans in the state of Tennessee have long known about Gabriel Georges.
The 6-foot, 210-pound running back has dominated the competition he’s faced in the top private school classification in Tennessee. His blend of speed and power makes it nearly impossible for opposing teams to slow him down at the high school level. It’s also what makes Gabriel Georges one of the best running back prospects in the country.
Gabriel Georges most notable performance came in the state semifinals last season when he rushed for 431 yards and seven touchdowns in a 56-35 victory over rival McCallie.
