With SEC Media Days concluded, we’re now counting down the days for Tennessee football’s return for fall camp. Ahead of the start in early August, the Vols hit the studio for photo day in the new adidas uniforms.

This also gave us our first look at some transfers and newcomers in orange for the first time and some returners in new numbers. Perhaps most notably, we got a look at the pair of quarterbacks entrenched in the ongoing battle for the starting job, Faizon Brandon in No. 11 and George MacIntyre in No. 12.

Here’s a look at the photo day content posted by Tennessee football:

Tennessee is set to have its fifth starting quarterback in five years. That doesn’t necessarily worry head coach Josh Heupel, though. He’s had success with young and inexperienced quarterbacks and still produced top offenses across the country.

“I know much is going to be made about our quarterback situation as we come in, starting our fifth different quarterback in five years,” Heupel said at SEC Media Days. “We’ve done that historically. At some point I’m going to have the opportunity to come back here with a returning starter at quarterback. Seven out of the last nine years we’ve had a different starting quarterback, and seven out of the last nine years top 10 in the country in scoring. We’re going to have a guy that’s going to be ready to compete at an elite championship level.”

Tennessee also makes a big change on defense. Heupel let go of defensive coordinator Tim Banks and hired Jim Knowles to take his role. That came with multiple position coach changes and additions through the transfer portal to retool the roster.
