John Cave Osborne is an author and freelance writer who also works with a local real-estate development company which owns, manages and operates nearly 3 million square feet of commercial property. His writing began with his eponymous site, JohnCaveOsborne.com, which was recognized by Disney as one of the nation’s top 15 dad blogs in 2011 and 2012. In late 2012, Osborne started a sports-centric site dedicated to the University of Tennessee, allVOLyall.com, which featured long-form essays, snarky rants and a series of parody videos (including Grudemonium and The Butch Jones Song) which drew national attention.
His foray into the world of sports led him to Tennessee Sports Radio, where he served as Director of Digital Content. Osborne rebuilt TSR’s website before assuming the role of directing, editing, promoting and contributing to the content thereupon.
After just four months, Osborne had grown TSR’s monthly visits, unique visitors and pageviews by 756%, 878% and 1,037% respectively. He was also the leading traffic driver, accounting for nearly 45% of the site’s total pageviews during the 2014 football season.
In June of 2014, Osborne teamed up with Bob Baskerville to form RockyTopInsider.com. He’ll leave the heavy lifting to the actual reporters, but look for Osborne to contribute his unique pieces — all formulated from the perspective of the common fan — upon occasion. Nothing bugs him more than joke-heavy bios written in the third person with the possible exception of Pit Bull.
Osborne lives chaotically in Knoxville, Tn. with his wife and five kids.
