RTI Pick Six: Week 9

Missouri-1

Vanderbilt @ Missouri (-21) TV: SEC Network 4 pm Saturday

Daniel: The last time we saw Vanderbilt, the ‘Dores were struggling to finish off FCS-level opponent Charleston Southern. Missouri certainly has some flaws, but the Tigers are no FCS opponent and this will be no close contest. Mizzou QB Maty Mauk has been pretty atrocious for some reason for much of this season, but Missouri’s defense forced six turnovers and special teams scored twice last week at Florida in a 42-13 win over the Gators. The Tigers may not ever be able to re-create that formula, but they’ll be able to do more than enough to cover their offensive deficiencies against a hapless Vanderbilt team that should go winless in SEC play this year. Winner: Missouri 27-3

Houston: This may be the worst college football game of the season. I don’t think either of these teams are even close to being good, although Missouri’s record would seem to indicate otherwise. What they did to Florida was like watching a friend find a briefcase full of money that you have been looking for for 10 long years. You are happy for him, in a way, but IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU! …….It should have been you.

It should. Have been. YOU.

I think those selfish, turnover hogging  jerks from Missouri will win this game, but they won’t look good doing it. And as for Vandy, well….they’re Vandy again. Winner: Missouri 20-10

Reed: We’re picking this game solely to make fun of both Vanderbilt and Missouri. Even train wrecks think Vanderbilt is a train wreck and Missouri’s offense has scored one touchdown in two games. Missouri just beat Florida despite getting a 6/18 for 20 yards and a interception performance from Maty Mauk. Though Tennessee’s offense is clearly struggling, Maty Mauk has made Justin Worley look like Peyton Manning the last few weeks. Vanderbilt can’t get anything right. If Sal Sunseri ever got a head coaching job, I imagine the product would look a ton like the 2014 Commodores – total disarray in all phases. If you enjoy horrible football and/or want to watch a game that makes you feel better about Tennessee football, make sure to watch this game. Winner: Missouri 2-0.

Mark: Last weekend Missouri had 119 total yards of offense and won at Florida 42-13. Yes. 42 points. With 119 total yards of offense. They scored touchdowns on a kickoff return, a punt return, a fumble return and an interception return. Tigers quarterback Maty Mauk threw for 20 yards. and they won by 39. I don’t care if it against a Florida team ready to give Will Muschamp that “Buyout Life,” all of those details make me want to throw my computer in the river.

On the other side of this coin, someone named Johnny McCrary gets the start at quarterback for Vanderbilt.

I won’t watch this football game and you can’t make me.Winner: Missouri 24-2
