Slayton committed to Georgia on December 4th after he claimed a top-5 of Auburn, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee. Slayton visited Tennessee for their 50-16 win over Kentucky and came away impressed, but apparently liked the situation in Athens a bit more than Knoxville. Slayton is current teammates with Vol cornerback commit Micah Abernathy, so the Vols will have someone “on the inside” recruiting Slayton all the way until signing day.

Where Tennessee Stands
As mentioned with Van Jefferson, Tennessee is looking for one more big-time receiver in this class to compliment Preston Williams, and Slayton would be a good fit for that spot. With Jefferson enrolling early, if the Vols are unable to flip him then expect them to turn up the heat on Slayton all the way until signing day.
