Where Tennessee Stands
Tennessee may currently locked in a tight battle with LSU and Ole Miss, and the the Vol coaching staff has made sure Phillips knows how crucial he is to this class. Tommy Thigpen went and watched Phillips play over Tennessee’s final bye week and spent some time with the talented defensive end. Phillips has visited Tennessee five times over the last eight months, so it is obvious that he has some serious interest in the Vols. The key will be his official visit later this month and whether or not Butch Jones and company can convince him to play for the home-state school. Tennessee will get Phillips’ final official visit (December 12th) before he makes his final decision. Phillips is an early enrollee.
