12. Vols blow lead in 10-9 loss to Florida

The Gators were a talented squad – nobody ever really questioned that. But under Will Muschamp, the Gators weren’t clicking, especially on offense. The hype for this game was enormous. Tennessee fans perfectly executed the #CheckerNeyland campaign, Lil Jon sent the team a video message and it felt like the year that the Vols could finally breakthrough against the Gators. That belief grew even stronger as Tennessee built a 9-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but at the same time, the fact that UT had to settle for field goals was also unnerving to many. Sure enough, Florida turned to backup QB Treon Harris, who rallied Florida to a touchdown and a field goal to take the lead late. Tennessee had a chance to regain the lead late, but an interception ended those chances in another frustrating ending for the Vols.
