7. Who is the punter?
Simple enough. Matt Darr finished off an up-and-down career in 2014 with a solid redshirt senior season. But he’s out of eligibility and the Vols don’t have any returning scholarship players at the position. Walk-ons Trevor Daniel and Ryan Ault should return, and Aaron Medley, who did a great job handling the kicking duties as a true freshman in 2014, also can punt. But the most likely candidate it current commitment Tommy Townsend, a top-rated high school punter out of the Orlando area. Butch Jones will want open competition at the position, but look for Townsend to have the highest odds going into fall camp.
