Status
Feaster was one of the top targets on Tennessee’s early board at running back, and it looked like the Vols might have a shot to start out their 2016 class with a huge bang on the 2015 version of Signing Day, when Feaster announced. Feaster, however, committed to the in-state Tigers, and seemed to shut it down a bit after that.

But Tennessee re-emerged into the picture late in the summer when he visited Knoxville for the second Orange Carpet Day. He had some glowing comments about the Vols, and seemed to indicate that his commitment to Clemson wasn’t as solid as once believed. After speculation spread that he might flip to UT, he took to Twitter to re-affirm his commitment to the Tigers, though it’s clear that UT opened his eyes somewhat during that visit. Tennessee did take a RB in Carlin Fils-aime shortly after that time, so perhaps the Vols won’t be serious contenders for Feaster down the stretch, but he’s definitely a name to keep an eye on.

 How He Fits

There aren’t many – if any – significant holes in Feaster’s game as a running back. He has good speed, vision, power, catches the ball well out of the backfield and does just about anything you could want as a back. If you’re going to find a knock – and it’s a stretch – you might say he doesn’t have elite size, but at 6-feet and close 200 pounds, he should be plenty big to be a featured back in any conference.

Finding at least one feature back in the 2016 class is a priority for the Vols. Are they comfortable with Fils-aime or will they continue to push hard to add Feaster and/or another back? That’ll be a storyline as UT builds the rest of this class, but regardless, Feaster is talented to the point where the Vols must at least keep in touch with him. A lot can happen before Signing Day.
