Friday Top 10: Ranking the 2016 Schedule

 7. Virginia Tech (Bristol Motor Speedway; Bristol, TN)

butchbristolThe bottom part of this list is tough to sort out. Virginia Tech, who the Vols will meet in the Battle at Bristol at Bristol Motor Speedway, might be the toughest team to project. Coach Frank Beamer is squarely on the hot seat as the Hokies have limped to a 3-5 start this year and haven’t been very good on either side of the ball. That’s amazing for a team that is the only squad in the nation to beat Ohio State over the past two years after knocking the Buckeyes off early in 2014. The Hokies haven’t had a losing season since 1992, so this is somewhat uncharted water for them. History says they’ll right the ship and be competitive next year. The neutral site and unique venue make this one tough to project as well. Tech does not look great on paper heading into 2016, but it’s foolish to overlook the Hokies too much.
