Special Teams
For what feels like the first time all season, the Vols didn’t turn in a great performance from the special teams unit. Punter Trevor Daniel had another stellar performance, averaging 47.8 yards a punt including a 58-yarder that landed inside the 5-yard line. But aside from Daniel, Tennessee’s special teams didn’t do much. Evan Berry couldn’t return either of the two kick-offs Northwestern had, and Alvin Kamara didn’t do anything on two punt returns. Aaron Medley plunked a 49-yard field goal off the upright to start the game but responded with a 35-yard one in the second quarter.
