The Commodores escaped the SEC cellar after getting their first SEC wins under Derek Mason in 2015.
It’s tough to say exactly where the Commodores will be in 2016, but if they keep making steady progress, perhaps this will be a tougher trip than some are imagining. They do return about 16 starters and the defense has looked formidable at times under Mason.
The last four trips to Vandy have either ended in a loss or a win of two scores or less for UT. The Vols haven’t blown the Commodores out at home since 2006 (39-10). Still, Tennessee needs to take care of business in this one to be a true SEC contender.
