Main contenders: Quinten Dormady, Jarrett Guarantano, Sheriron Jones
Dormady is the presumed favorite since he’s the only one in the group that’s ever taken a college snap. Jones and Guarantano both bring a ton of upside and athleticism, however. Guarantano, in particular, has looked impressive for a true freshman early in camp. He’s shown why he was one of the top-ranked high school quarterbacks in the nation coming out in 2015. The backup QB job is always an important one, but it’s also a preview of next season’s starting QB competition.
