Defensive Line
Derek Barnett made the biggest play of the game for UT when he got around Cam Robinson and sacked Jalen Hurts, forced a fumble and ultimately set up UT’s lone touchdown if the game. Barnett also added an INT on a tipped ball by Shy Tuttle. Tennessee got some good pressure early in the game especially, but Alabama adjusted and scrapped most of the drop-back passing plays, focusing almost entirely on the run game – leading to record-setting success. The Vols, down a couple men at defensive tackle at times, couldn’t stand up to the veteran Tide offensive line in that area.
