    The group of players in the state of Tennessee in the 2017 recruiting class were loaded with talent. But as deep and highly-rated as that class was, the in-state prospects in the 2018 class might be even deeper and more talented. And that bodes well for the Vols.

    Despite a down year in terms of in-state recruiting in the 2017 class, the Vols are in great position with much of the state’s top talent. The Vols already have commitments from the state’s No. 1 prospect, five-star offensive lineman Cade Mays, and the No. 8 in-state player, four-star athlete Alontae Taylor.

    The Vols already have pledges from those two in-state players, and they’re targeting several other of the state’s top talent as well. And those same in-state players also have the Vols high on their lists early into the 2018 recruiting cycle.

    Here’s a look at Tennessee’s top in-state targets in the 2018 class who are currently uncommitted.
