Coaching
Overall, the coaching wasn’t the most impressive thing about Saturday, but when you hold out 25 players due to injury or other concerns, then you’re handicapping yourself pretty significantly to start. The offense stayed pretty vanilla, but the play-calling in the passing game did seem a little more daring than in years past during the spring game, and some of the blitz packages (there weren’t many) were well drawn up. It’s hard to determine a lot from the coaching with just a half of play and with so many walk-ons already playing in that one half, but it wasn’t a bad effort by any stretch of the imagination on Saturday.
