Last recruiting cycle, Tennessee was able to go down to Loganville, Georgia and secure the commitment and eventual signature of five-star offensive tackle Wanya Morris at Grayson High School. Now, the Vols have offered one of his former teammates at the powerhouse program in Georgia.

Ryan King, a three-star wide receiver at Grayson in the 2020 class, picked up an offer from Tennessee on Wednesday. King is actually committed to Georgia Tech and announced his commitment to the Yellow Jackets on March 14th, but the offers from other programs keep flooding in.

Tennessee offensive lineman and former Grayson player Wanya Morris reacted to King getting an offer from the Vols as well:

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, King is the No. 422 overall player and No. 77 wide receiver. The regular 247Sports have him rated No. 393 overall and No. 71 among wide receivers.  He already holds offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Kentucky, LSU, North Carolina, Ole Miss, and Texas among several others.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound receiver has an eye popping 39.6-inch vertical, which shows that he has incredible athleticism. He also got the highest score of any wide receiver at Nike’s The Opening regional camp in Atlanta in March, posting a score of 120.24 at the event. That athleticism is on display on his highlight film.

King is a very crisp route runner and is able to get in and out of his breaks effectively. He makes very crisp cuts, often throwing off his defender. He has very good hands and is also able to high point the football. He often wins 50/50 balls and also has a very good speed for his size. He’s very versatile too, lining up in the slot, out wide, and even taking snaps out of the backfield.

As a junior for Grayson, King had 26 receptions for 432 yards and 6 receiving touchdowns according to MaxPreps. He was one of the leading receivers for Grayson last season.

King has been committed to Georgia Tech for barely a month, but the Yellow Jackets have done a solid job in recruiting thus far under new head coach Geoff Collins. Tennessee receivers coach Tee Martin is his primary recruiter for the Vols. This will be one to watch, as Tennessee has made both wide receiver and the state of Georgia big priorities in the 2020 recruiting cycle.

With one of the top recruiters in the country on him and with the Vols having a big need at his position, King’s recruitment will be interesting to keep an eye on as he camps and heads into his senior season.
